The Defeat of Grandiosity

I get such ideas of grandor at times that I am ultimately left feeling defeated, overwelmed, and from there adopt an "Oh, just forget it..." attitude....in case none of this is making sense to you, let me explain further. About a year ago when I went to a Beth Moore conference, I bought a book by Chris Adams called, "Women Reaching Women"....when I got home with it, I tossed it on the shelf with all my other "must read when I get around to it" books. Today, I picked up the book and began to read and now I can't put it down....it has propelled me in one instant to want to act drastically and "do something" and in another instant to "just forget it". Does anyone else share these feelings? I am asking those women that are christians to partner up with me and pray for me to know when God can use me for a specific area of ministry and to have discernment regarding my will versus God's will. One of my biggest stumbling blocks to moving forward with what I feel God is calling me to do is fear of "man" (or woman) and what they will think....Will they think me capable enough? Am I too old? Am I too young (probably not)? Do I speak well enough? Am I too southern? Crazy all the questions that roll through your mind when you are feeling called to move forward....

Thank you Mrs. G....I am in a bit of a spiritual "slump" right now for no particular reason....I can't focus when I pray, I am not reading and studying God's word like I need to....meanwhile, I feel an urgency to "do"....

I will be praying for too you Aunt Sue, God will answer & you will know when he does. From your blog "One of my biggest stumbling blocks to moving forward with what I feel God is calling me to do is fear of "man" (or woman) and what they will think....Will they think me capable enough? Am I too old? Am I too young (probably not)? Do I speak well enough? Am I too southern?"
I cant speak for every one but I think you are capable of doing anything you put your mind & heart to (Like all of us Staten woman).. Too old? No way!, people who are in their 40s are NOT old . But they are old enough to have learned a few things about life. If my generation would really listen to the things people in their 40's,50's,& 60's, told them about life, so many young adults wouldn't have to learn things the hard way. Too Young? No your not, I don't really think any one is too young or too old for God to use them. Think how young David was when it slaved Goliath & and how old was Moses when he parted the red sea? Speak well enough? Yes you do, you don't need to worry about that. too southern? There is no such thing as too southern.
